The Ruskin Arms
Closed again....apologies if already done. After Saturdays game had a few beers in East Ham and made my way home via Manor Park Station was surprised to see the Ruskin boarded up. Apparently there was a serious assault outside in September and they have had their licence revoked because none of the bar staff called the old bill while it was taking place.

Was my local for 5 years another famous East End boozer gone!

Remember years ago my brother doing a gig there. About 3 people turned up. Single light bulb above the stage and some bloke with a cut down denim jacket with a painted Status Quo emblem on the back, only thing he spelt Quo, Qua. Oh well ateast they tried the same boards as Maiden.

We used to go some Rock nights there a while back, decent Indian I think, was meant to end up there in my stag night at one point, but was to bollocked.

Percy I used to live less than 5 minutes walk away and the South Bank floodlights were visible from my front garden. Yes we still have the memories but every now and then I go back its the place I grew up in and the heart has been ripped out of there.

I think I need counselling!

Don't go there mate I can still visualise the old ground as I've not been anywhere near there since the last game at home.
Haven't any family there anymore so it's just good memories for me.

Good. The NuRuskin was like seeing a dead loved one dug up and used a shop window manikin by cunts who sell shit to arseholes

The people what did the crime of the NuRuskin should be put in prison in hell. I hope anyone who drunk or ate in it get's the AIDS.

If you were in there and they played "jazz" and you didn't set fire to stuff then Death hell and the AIDS is too good for you.

The Earl of Essex is reopening shortly.

Local middle class wankers tried to stop it reopening because it wasn't hipster enough.

Re: The Ruskin Arms
there was a link with all this info from the local paper a while ago.. a couple of pissed up punters started on someone they werent with in the boozer went outside and carried on kicking the shit out of him , meanwhile the pub carried on selling drinks while the police sorted it out.

Since when did a publican have to be OB in order to keep their licence?!

The Stoat 7:20 Wed Jan 9
Re: The Ruskin Arms
Dunno about the serious assault issue but the company that owns it filed for bankruptcy some time ago so I think that's the reason it shut down before Christmas
